Your BMI

Enter your height and weight to see where you sit on the Asian-Indian scale.

  • UnderweightBelow 18.5
  • Healthy18.5 to 22.9
  • Overweight23 to 24.9
  • Obese25 and above

BMI is a screening number, not a diagnosis. It doesn't tell muscle from fat.

What your BMI number means

A quick guide to the maths, the ranges we use for South Asian adults and what BMI leaves out.

How BMI is calculated

BMI is your weight in kilograms divided by your height in metres, squared. Someone who weighs 65 kg and is 1.63 m (5 ft 4 in) tall has a BMI of 65 ÷ (1.63 × 1.63), which is 24.5.

The same formula applies to men and women. It isn't meant for children, teenagers or pregnant women, who need age- or stage-specific charts.

Why the Asian ranges are lower

At the same BMI, South Asians tend to carry more body fat, especially around the waist, than people of European descent. That raises the risk of type 2 diabetes and heart disease at a lower weight. So a WHO expert group and Indian clinical guidelines use lower cut-offs: 23 for overweight and 25 for obesity.

What BMI can't tell you

BMI doesn't separate muscle from fat, so athletes can read as overweight. It also misses where fat sits. Measure your waist at the level of your navel as well: for Indian adults, above 90 cm for men or 80 cm for women is worth discussing with a doctor, whatever your BMI.

What to do with your number

Treat it as a starting point. If you're above the healthy range, losing even 5% of your weight can improve blood sugar, blood pressure and energy. Pair your BMI with recent blood reports and a coach can build a plan around the food you already cook.

Questions people ask first

See every question
Why should I choose us over dietitians or fitness platforms?

You get a certified coach, a personalised plan built around the home-cooked food you already eat, daily check-ins on the app and access to specialists for PCOD, thyroid and diabetes — all in one place instead of juggling separate services.

Will a plan cure my health concern? Will I be off medications?

Our plans are designed to support medical treatment, not replace it. Many clients see improved markers, but any change to medication must be decided by your doctor.

Can I choose my coach?

Yes. After your first consultation you can request a coach based on language, specialisation or schedule, and you can ask to switch at any time.

Are your coaches qualified?

Every coach holds a recognised degree in nutrition or dietetics, and goes through internal training and regular case reviews with senior clinical nutritionists.

Can you give me a sample diet?

Yes — book a free consultation and your coach will share a sample day of meals based on your preferences, routine and health goals.
